As mentioned in our previous article, the most exciting Blockchain event “International Blockchain Congress ” finally ended . It was a much needed event and it saw a gathering of developers, crypto enthusiast , startups and government agencies . NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant and IT Minister of Telangana KT Rama Rao were the keynote speakers, in addition to 80 other speakers.
Hosted in in collaboration with NITI Aayog, and the governments of Telangana and Goa, and Nucleus Vision, the International Blockchain Congress is aimed at bringing thought-provoking conversations on blockchain for next-generation services, developing blockchain applications and blockchain technologies for government and put in place regulations and guidelines.
Speaking about the promise of Blockchain, NITI Aayog CEO Mr. Kant “Unlike other technologies, Blockchain is not visible to citizens or consumers, but works in the background. It is important to understand where it can be used and where it has little or no value. We need to work towards use cases which significantly exploit the advantages of Blockchain,”
Telangana will be getting India’s first Blockchain District. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Telangana State Information Technology Electronics and Communications department and Tech Mahindra, Nucleus Vision and Eleven01 Foundation for the same at the IBC 2018.
The main attraction of the whole event was Ian Balina who is a crypto influencer. It was his first time in India. Watch this video interview of Ian Balina done by CNBC.
We hope more such events and conferences take place in India as it bridges the gap between developers, startups and governments.
